Join Sweden event during ESMO 2024 in Barcelona!

Together with Lif - de forskande läkemedelsföretagen, Business Sweden, Embassy of Sweden in Madrid, Spain, we arranged for the second consecutive year a special evening event during the ESMO congress. This year we gathered 120 leaders from the Swedish and global cancer communities at the old Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, a declared UNESCO World Heritage site, in the heart of Barcelona.

The event featured insightful discussions and networking opportunities to promote meaningful connections within cancer research and innovation. Honorary Consul General Mrs. Sofia Geli Stenhammar's welcoming remarks were followed by an engaging conversation moderated by Anders Edsjö and Ebba Hallersjö Hult, co-leaders of the multi-stakeholder innovation hub hashtag#TestbedSwedenPrecisionHealthCancer, initiated by Genomic Medicine Sweden, SciLifeLab and Nollvision Cancer | Vision Zero Cancer to prototype a comprehensive ecosystem for the equitable and sustainable implementation of precision cancer in clinical care.

We delved into Sweden's pioneering role in precision medicine, healthcare innovation, clinical trials and patient engagement with healthcare professionals, researchers, life science innovators, policy experts and patient advocates, all working together to bring meaningful innovation into healthcare systems. Ana Carneiro, Annika Baan, Bettina Ryll, Edvard Abel, Elham Hedayati, Frida Lundmark, Gunilla Andrew-Nielsen, Janne Lehtiö, Kristina Sonnevi, Margareta Haag.

Thank you all who joined us and please reach out and connect! And stay tuned for ESMO2025 in Berlin!

A special thanks to our colleagues for excellent organisation and support Martin Takac, Robert Löf, Britta Stenson, PhD, Caroline Fagerson, Adam Szulkin, Azita Hedayati
