On World Cancer Day, we highlighted how Testbed Sweden Precision Health Cancer is revolutionizing cancer care through precision medicine. Our initiative, FOCU·SE, drives basic research, clinical trials, and implementation of precision medicine treatments.
Key highlights:
• SweTrial initiative advancing precision cancer treatment trials
• NASTRO's expanding network of oncological trial units
• Launch of FOCU.SE, a DRUP-like clinical study
• Collaboration with patient organizations and national infrastructure
Supported by Vinnova and Swelife, we unite university hospitals, regulatory authorities, patient organizations, and research institutions. Through PCM4EU and PRIME-ROSE projects, we're connecting with European partners to implement precision cancer medicine.
Now you can take part of the Molecular Tumour Board Portal – decision support system for omics data in cancer treatment and clinical studies, webinar from december 12th. 2024. The Molecular Tumor Board Portal (MTBP) has been developed within Janne Lehtiö's lab at Karolinska Institutet and serves as a decision support system for patient inclusion in the Basket of Baskets (BoB) study, conducted as part of the Cancer Core Europe collaboration.
Testbed Sweden and Health Policy Network have developed a framework to help researchers design and run trials that support the integration of precision cancer medicine in practice.
The Lung Cancer Association, in collaboration with the Zero Vision Cancer and All.Can Sweden, hosted a webinar discussing the future of lung cancer screening.

Webinar on the early detection of lung cancer and the introduction of lung cancer screening are key focus areas for the Lung Cancer Association.
Lung cancer is the deadliest form of cancer in terms of number of deaths in Sweden, yet a national screening program is still lacking. A new report from IHE - The Swedish Institute for Health Economics, commissioned by Vision Zero Cancer and AstraZeneca, shows that AI can reduce the resource need and costs for radiologists by approximately 80% and enable earlier detection.
The report has been developed as a part of IHE’s partnership in the VINNOVA-funded innovation milieu Test Bed Sweden Precision Health Cancer.
Together with Lif - de forskande läkemedelsföretagen, Business Sweden, Embassy of Sweden in Madrid, Spain, we arranged for the second consecutive year a special evening event during the ESMO congress.
Cancer is a global societal challenge. To meet it, we need to create better conditions for implementing new knowledge, new methods, and interventions. We need to think anew and adopt a holistic perspective on health. We need to collaborate in new ways between healthcare, industry, and civil society.
The development of precision medicine has been ongoing since the 1990s. From treatments for a few patients, we are today faced with the widespread introduction of precision medicine in new parts of healthcare.
On April 23rd-24th, Vision Zero Cancer/ SIR will be at the Nordic Precision Medicine Forum in Stockholm and organise a workshop on impact assessment frameworks for Precision Medicine implementation.
